13th Street Loft
New York City, 2001

Located in a 19th century industrial building, this 2,400 sf duplex had been newly converted into residential lofts. The client wanted to enhance the historic features without a major renovation.

DBPA’s approach was to carefully add key design elements into the loft: a glass and steel screen redefines the existing stair and new pearwood cabinetry gives definition to living spaces. New furniture was selected and designed for two bedrooms, a home office, living and dining, and family rooms. Extensive changes were also made to the kitchen and baths.
