Louisville Penthouse in Wall Street Journal
November 19, 2013
According to the Wall Street Journal, “Every Piece of Art Needs A Home.” This quickly became apparent to contemporary-art collectors Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson as they grew their collection of 2,000 works. So they asked us to design an apartment in downtown Louisville to showcase a wide range of pieces. In the paper’s “Mansion” section, Nancy Keats tells the story of the Louisville Penthouse and how it balances our clients’ art and our architecture.
This project became just one in a series of collaborations with the collectors. We have designed three award-winning hotels with 21c Museum Hotels: in Louisville, Cincinnati, and Bentonville. Another is under construction; and additional hotels are in development.
