Deborah's Yale Design Studio Tours Kentucky Distilleries

03 FEB 2012 – This spring, Deborah's design studio at the Yale School of Architecture will design a bourbon distillery in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The studio, which will be taught with Noah Biklen, an Associate here, will examine how urban manufacturing is reemerging in cities in the form of small, agile companies that compete and collaborate as part of decentralized interdependent regional networks. This studio takes as its premise that small urban manufacturing offers an opportunity to rethink the 21st century American city as a place where things are made.
