Drawing From Practice
June 9, 2015
In his latest book, Drawing from Practice: Architects and the Meaning of Freehand, author J. Michael Welton explores the use of free-hand drawing by 26 “diverse and reputable architects.” Deborah’s feature, titled “Deborah Berke: A Tool for Thinking”, illustrates the importance of freehand drawing in her creative process. Within the chapter, Deborah shows examples of her intense carbon black pigment sketches on craft paper and discusses our work on the Bard College Conservatory of Music. Drawing from Practice was published by Routledge in April 2015. Go here to see more drawings of the Bard College Conservatory of Music.
