New 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville Breaks Ground
2011 DEC 06 - A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, Arkansas, just off the city's downtown square. Our project team was joined for the festivities by Mayor McCaslin and the
21c Museum Hotel team, which included Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown.
21c Museum Hotel Bentonville has the distinction of being the first ground-up building by the award-winning 21c brand. The new 100,000 square-foot hotel is clad in a dark brick with accents of glass, standing seam metal roofs and light stucco accents. It will provide a wide array of facilities that cater to business travelers and art enthusiasts alike. The primary focus of the hotel is the publicly accessible 12,000 square feet of day lit galleries as well as an outdoor sculpture garden. A restaurant and lounge located at the core of the hotel, in a soaring day lit space, can be reached by all of the galleries. The galleries will be dedicated to the work of living artists and will also serve as a key link in the emerging arts promenade that connects downtown Bentonville to the brand new Crystal Bridges Art Museum. Set to open in early 2013, 21c Museum Hotel promises to be a crown jewel in the 21st century downtown Bentonville.
