Presentation at Urban Land Institute
2011 OCT 26 - Deborah Berke and Craig Greenberg, Vice Chairman of 21c Museum Hotels, will be presenting at the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Fall Conference in Los Angeles. The talk is entitled “Development, Design and Financing Strategies for Urban Revitalization Using Hospitality and the Arts.”
Together they will present how
Louisville's 21c Museum Hotel, a public/private partnership based on the collaboration of art, architecture, government incentives, and private funding sources, contributed to urban revitalization and created a profitable business venture. Craig will explain the development and financing strategies used to fund this $30 million project in the post 9/11 downturn and in a market that lenders did not believe could support a boutique hotel. Deborah will discuss the creative strategies for turning five historic and dilapidated buildings with what most people thought was too much interior space into the award-winning hotel and museum it is today.
The presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 26 from 11:15am to 12:00pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center. For more information about the ULI Fall Conference, visit
